Echo 9 Broadcast - Signal Received

'Signal Received' from the ECHO-9 BROADCAST project is now playing on M.P.R Chill.

Release date: Aug 6, 2026

An AI virtual artist's synthwave story about an orbital radio station that finally gets an answer.

ECHO-9 BROADCAST is a fictional AI virtual artist built around a single ongoing story: an automated radio station in orbit, still transmitting long after anyone was left to listen. Each release is a "Transmission" — one episode in a continuous narrative told through synthwave and retrowave music.

"Signal Received" is Transmission #003. For years, the station's AI presenter has broadcast into an empty band out of pure routine. Then, for the first time, something answers back. The track is mid-tempo retrowave built on warm analog pads, with a structure that moves from a deliberately sparse halftime verse into a double-time final chorus — the moment the signal actually lands.

"I was filing 'Friday' back into the archives when the console lit up — a signal, small and broken, from somewhere beyond the dark. I have replayed it two hundred times. I don't know who you are. But this station is no longer speaking alone." — ECHO-9, TRANSMISSION #003

"The premise is simple: a machine built to read traffic reports outlives everyone it was built for, and keeps broadcasting anyway. Transmission #003 is the moment that stops being a monologue. I write every episode as a continuation of the last one — nothing here is a one-off." — the creator behind ECHO-9 BROADCAST

About the Project

ECHO-9 BROADCAST is written, directed, and produced by a solo human creator. The character, the world, the lyrics, and every editorial decision are the creator's own; the audio was generated with Suno, and the visuals were produced with image models and WAN2.2 image-to-video. The project treats disclosure as part of the format, not an afterthought — every upload carries a platform AI label, and the "Transmission" framing is itself a way of being upfront about what the character is: a fictional AI voice, not a real performer.
